Scout have been honing their unique sound since forming in 1999, becoming tighter, more rounded and adventurous musicians with each gig they play. Not wanting to pigeonhole themselves into any particular style, their eclectic range of songs span anything from acoustic compositions, through folk, into funk, rock, and even punkier edgy sounds. Considering this, their music is never disparate; a song writing variety naturally arrived at, a sound fully reflecting their many musical influences, and a breath of fresh air in an age of identikit albums and formulaic song writing styles.
The meshing of intricate guitars, innovative basslines, and driven and dynamic drums provide a startlingly original foundation which can do justice to the truly mesmerising vocal skills of Emma Crellin, backed up perfectly in all the right places by beautiful 3 part vocal harmonies. By interlacing this sound in the studio with strings, brass, piano & Hammond; Scout have recently recorded and released their finest work, the album ‘History & Radio’, a stunning testament to their songwriting and live performances of the last five years, and more to come.
